The BBQ chicken had a beautiful char and was cooked to juicy perfection. The skin was crispy and caramelized with a smoky-sweet barbecue glaze that hit all the right notes—slightly tangy, a bit of heat, and just enough sweetness. The meat was tender and flavorful all the way through, showing it had been marinated well. A touch more smokiness or spice could have elevated it to the next level, but it was still a delicious and satisfying dish. The grilled corn on the side was a great bonus.

Small Indian food truck/restaurant located within the Chevron gas station. They serve fried rice,briyani,noodles, grill items- Tandoori,chicken 65. Open from 11am to 10pm. Have a nice dining while here.

Delicious Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan Bread for less than 20. Very good portion size for the price. Will be returning.

It is food truck with nice sitting area arranged outside in open space with umbrella . Very authentic food ( not easy to find with traditional US based Indian resturant). It brings some traditional dishes from Maharashtra ( state in India that I am very familiar). I will recommend to try chicken dishes.

That chicken slapped. Smoky, saucy, tender, and grilled to perfection. Sauce-to-bite ratio? Perfect. A little heat, a little sweet. Loved it. Get the cornbread too—you’ll thank

Plenty of vegetarian options. If you like Indian style bbq- this is the place. Paneer tikka kabab was delicious. There were 5 paneer pieces and it came with salad. Also ordered Hakka noodles which was good. Would appreciate bigger portion size compared to the price otherwise it’s good to have another food truck in the area. Would definitely visit again to try out other items from the menu. Service was quick. Very less waiting time after ordering. Staff was courteous. Overall good experience.

Decided to try something new and I’ve gotta say i'm impressed with the overall quality and portions. Menu prices are just right and the location is great. I’ve received nothing but excellent customer service so I recommend “Desi Roots in Texas” to anyone that wants to try new things or is looking for quality food options.

This is the best food truck in Austin. I was missing Indian taste every where in Austin but finally I found it Desi root in Texas. I tried dum aloo which was excellent. Thank you chef Ali and chef Ashish they are very kind and helpful with menu.
